Falls are one of the most common occurrences of workplace related injures and deaths. Employers must provide a workplace that is safe for workers who perform their job duties on elevated platforms or around holes.

While each industry has different regulations for what is considered a fall hazard, here are a few tips on how to set up the workplace to protect your employees.

  • Guard any holes with a rail or floorboard cover.
  • Keep dangerous areas clean and if circumstances permit, dry.
  • Provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at no charge to your workers.
